Construction is underway on this addition and alteration project, where a pretty good house in a pretty terrific setting had long felt stuck in a bad relationship; a common malaise. We relish the challenge of cultivating a richer reciprocity here, composing a holistic, singular, and congruous place. Though we’re adding no beds, no baths, no kitchens, and no garages, we believe the changes taking shape will create a far more soulful and humane home.

Part of that transformation is now coming to life: a twenty-foot pair of lift-and-slide doors opening to a broad black locust deck and a renewed, nourishing connection to the landscape.
